ESIS Area Manager - Michael Cavanagh
Michael trained as a teacher of PE at Jordanhill College, but only taught for one year after graduating in 1981. 18 years in leisure management for a number of Scotish local authorities, as well as performance sport experience at a voluntary level, led to his appointment as ESIS Manager in October 2000.

Michael's main sport is Freestyle Wrestling, which he has been involved in from the age of 11, and is currently the President of the Scottish Wrestling Association and a board member of both the British Wrestling Association and the Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland.

He competed for Scotland at the 1982 Commonwealth Gamesin Brisbane, was a Wrestling Coach at the 1994 Games in Victoria and also Wrestling Team Manager in the 2002 Games in Manchester.

 In 2006 Michael was Assistant General Team Manager at the Melbourne Games, with responsibility for the Village and Athlete Liaison within the Scottish Team. Michael has also managed British Teams at World Wrestling Championships and at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

ESIS Programme & Services Manager - Elinor Middlemiss
Elinor lives in
Edinburgh and states her hobbies are her two kids and badminton coaching.  Her sporting hero is Ed Moses due to 122 consecutive winning races and bettering his own world record 4 times on his way to winning 2 Olympic Gold medals in 1976 and 1984. Before becoming a mum there was badminton, she played international badminton for 18 years from 1984 to 2002. Elinor is the most capped Scottish woman player with 136 caps and competed in 5 Commonwealth Games from 1986 to 2002 winning 2 medals.

Mark Ritchie has been seconded to UK Sport
Mark was educated at the University of Stirling in Sport Studies and Marketing. Mark has a love of playing and following most sports but loves to watch the game of rugby after spending his gap year in Hamilton, New Zealand following the Super 14 franchise, 'The Waikato Chiefs'. 

Mark's sporting hero is Iwan Tukalo due to his sheer competitiveness in the year that Scotland won the Grand Slam in 1990.
